• A Certified Insurance Counselor is an insurance professional who has demonstrated competence through a combination of experience, formal training, and a series of rigorous written examinations covering all major fields of insurance and agency management.

• An individual becomes a CIC after attending a series of highly specialized and advanced formal institutes spanning one or more years and passing five separate written examinations.

• The designation, CIC, is awarded by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, a national non-profit organization dedicated to professional insurance education.

• To be entitled use of the Certified Insurance Counselor designation a CIC must continually update his or her insurance knowledge by attending at least one of the Society's institutes or advanced seminars each year.

• AAI means Accredited Adviser in Insurance

• An Accredited Adviser in Insurance is an insurance professional who has demonstrated competence through a series of exams addressing technical knowledge or insurance products (coverage provisions), market knowledge of those who buy insurance (client needs), and how to manage the producer's office operations to facilitate sales and improve agency productivity.

• The designation, AAI, is awarded by the Insurance Institute of American, a national non-profit organization dedicated to professional insurance education.

• CPIW means Certified Professional Insurance Woman

  

• A Certified Professional Insurance Woman is an insurance professional who has demonstrated competence through participation, length of employment and completion of designate eduational programs.

• An individual becomes a CPIW after being a member in the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW) for a minimum of two years, employment in the insurance industry for a minimum of five years, completion of NAIW education program and an education program from an insurance industry educational organization.

• The designation CPIW is awarded by the National Association of Insurance Women to promote personal and professional development
